    The Beauty of Imperfection

Valentine’s Day can be irksome if you strive for perfection. And, since love is truly about embracing imperfections, it seems ironic that marketers hock ideas to create a “perfect” Valentine’s Day. Our lockets are all about keeping love close and the only perfection we expect is getting your photo absolutely right. So you can worry less about that perfect gift and put your energy toward letting that special someone know how lucky you feel to have them – imperfections and all – in your life. Happy Valentine’s Day!

    Winter Weather

There is nothing like a good snowstorm to get a little closer to your loved ones. Our Facebook feed filled last weekend with images of our friends and family hunkered down to weather the storm. Whether you got hit by the storm or were blissfully spared, we hope your weekend was filled with moments that allow you to reflect on how lucky you are to be...

  3. Heroes

When the movie the American Sniper came out, millions of people were introduced to the Hollywood version of Chris Kyle, played by Bradley Cooper. The movie only helped to propel the legend status of Chris and his accomplishments as a Navy Seal. On February 2, 2013, Chris was killed by a mentally-ill veteran he was trying to help cope with PTSD. I did not know Chris Kyle, but I was honored to be part of a ceremony in Dallas last week in which Phil Taylor, the artist who founded the...

  7. Giving Tuesday

    Giving Tuesday

It took some time to catch on, but Giving Tuesday seems to finally be in full swing. And what a wonderful idea – pausing to take stock of our good fortune and give a little something back that can help make our world a better place you could try here. Like so many, I often feel overwhelmed trying to find a way to do good in this world. But I recently read a letter written by Catherine Ryan Hyde, the author of Pay It Forward, to my son and his...

  8. Acorns

When we set about creating new products for our Holiday line, there was unanimous enthusiasm for one in particular – a sweet, sparkling Acorn locket. The seed of the mighty oak tree, an acorn symbolizes strength. Which we found very appropriate given that our company was developed on the notion that carrying loved ones with you provides comfort and strength. Like all of our lockets, it’s name was chosen to honor someone we love. In this case, it’s Jeannie. A friend who embodies strength and grace and beauty. We are...

  9. Pay It Pink

    Pay It Pink

In June of 2010, my husband Troy was transferred to Troy NY. While it’s funny to say that Troy was transferred to Troy, it actually wasn’t so funny at the time. I had lived in NYC for almost 20 years and didn’t know anything about upstate NY. I had just started my marketing business and my livelihood was in the city. But I had seen military couples live apart and didn’t want that for us. So I pulled out a map and put my finger on what I thought was...

  10. Promises

In 2007, I was six months pregnant with my second child. I was in my kitchen making dinner when the phone rang. One of those moments you never forget. It was my mother telling me that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have to say that while it shook me, I recovered quickly. My mother was otherwise healthy. Breast cancer is one of the most curable cancers and she had been getting regular mammograms. I was sure it was going to be a tough year while we figured...
